Rise and Shine, meet your tour guide at hotel then embark on a 2 hour journey to Gomantong Caves. It will be a scenic drive through rustic countryside vistas and Palm Oil Plantation. A guided tour along the plank walk will unveil the intricate chamber system of Gomantong Cave, located within the Gomantong Forest Reserve. It is the largest bird’s nest cave in Sabah, home to millions of bats and swiflets. Next up, continue on an approximately 30 minute drive to one of the world’s richest ecosystems on the Lower Kinabatangan River, Sukau. Arrive at Kampung Bilit, hop on a boat and cruise down the river heading to Sukau Bilit Rainforest Lodge where lunch will be served. After settling in, the real adventure starts. A river cruise awaits you, where you can spot endemic Proboscis Monkeys, wild Orang Utans, leaf monkeys, gibbons and macaque, even sometimes if you are lucky, the rare Borneo Pygmy Elephant. After tour, return to Sandakan hotel at around 21:00.
