Bangkok - Uthai Thani - Sukhothai - Chiang Mai - Luang Prabang - Pak Ou Cave - Khouangsi Waterfall - Vientiane
Upon arrival at Bangkok International Airport in Thailand, be met and drive to your hotel for check-in. We leave rest of the day for you to relax, and recover from Jet lag. Overnight in Bangkok.
At 12.00 hrs, we will pick you up at your hotel in Bangkok and bring you to the Yannawa pier of the "Mekhala", next to Wat Yannawa temple along the Chaophaya River. Bording at Mekhala will be at 2 pm at Mekhala pier. At about 2.30 pm the Mekhala will start it`s trip on the Chaophaya River. Cruise along the river until shortly before dawn the boat will dock next to Wat Kai Tia in Pathum Thani province. On deck of the boat you will have your candlelight-dinner. Overnight on board of Mekhala.
Bangkok - Uthai Thani
Early in the morning the monks of Wat kai Tia will pass by the Mekhala and you may donate some food to the monks. Then Mekhala continues cruising upstream. Breakfast is served on board. At about 10 am, you will check out from Mekhala and our driver awaits you at the pier already. Continue to Bang Pa-In, Ayutthaya. Visit here, the most important temples, including Wat Phanan Choen, Wat Yai Mongkol and Wat Rachaburana. Drive through the central plains to Lopburi, also called city of apes. In the center of the city, there is an old Hindu-shrine, where hundreds of monkeys are living. Further on you will visit an old Khmer-temple, Wat prang Sam Yoth and an old former kings’ Palace of king Narai, both in the city of Lopburi. Overnight in Uthai Thani.
Uthai Thani - Sukhothai
Travel to Bungboraphet,a huge swamp area where we will use a small boat to discover plants and birds in this wetland.Then continue through the rice plains, up to Phitsanoloke.Here is an old, still active temple, Wat Mahatat.From Phitsanoloke to Sukothai, it is another hour drive.You will visit the most ancient temple ruins, such as Wat Mahatat, Wat Sra Sri and Wat Sri Sawai. During the visit of this huge park area, you may walk or you may use the bicycles, our driver will rent for you. Since very few cars are allowed in the Historical site here, it's a nice change, to have some exercise on the bike.Overnight in Sukothai.
Sukhothai - Chiang Mai
The trip goes through the mountains to Lampang, where you will visit a typical northern-style temple, the Wat Phrathat Lampang Luang, build mostly with teakwood. After another 20 km you will reach the market Tungvien. Have a walk through the market where the people from the nearby mountain-villages sell various exotic animals, vegetables and other things. In Lampuhn it will be the last stop at Wat Haripunchai. It is one of the oldest temples of Thailand. Arrival in Chiang Mai in the late afternoon Overnight in Chiang Mai.
Chiang Mai - Luang Prabang
Transfer to the Chiang Mai International Airport for a morning flight to Luang Prabang. Welcome to Luang Prabang. Upon arrival meet your guide, transfer to your hotel. After a short break visit National museum, continue to visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham, Wat Mai; visit Wat Xieng Thong. We then climb up to the top of Phousi Mount for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a beautiful sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. From there, we explore Street Night Market, where you can find the lovely collection and handmade textile by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Luang Prabang - Pak Ou Cave - Khouangsi Waterfall
An optional early start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms. AM: After breakfast, we enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the city’s oldest temple of Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground. We then board a cruise trip upstream on the Mekong River, visit to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves.Along the way, we stop at the small village of Ban Xanghai. We return to Luang Prabang at noon.PM: We continue our excursion toward Khouangsi Waterfall, en route, we visit local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay, Hmong Village, Ban Ou, Laoloum Village and Ban Thapene, Khmu Village, then drive to the beautiful Khouangsi Waterfall where you can splash around in the turquoise pools or walk along the forest trails.We return to the city by late afternoon to observe the sunset at Wat Phabath. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Luang Prabang - Vientiane
After breakfast, Transfer you to airport for your short flight to Vientiane. Upon arrival, Meet your guide and we start visiting the major sights of the capital; including the oldest Wat Sisaket, the temple with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. On the way to the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, we stop to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. Overnight in Vientiane.
After breakfast, relax until your flight time to transfer you to airport for your departure.
